Synopsis:

WOW WOW WOW!
This book was soooo good! I went into it with no expectations whatsoever, so imagine my surprise! It book was refreshing on so many levels, but what made me fall in love with it was the heroine. HALLELUJAH, finally!  Ember, my dear Ember! She realized she's falling in love and she went for it! She didn't give up when he was closed down, she didn't run away when it got hard. She stuck by him and I respect the author for creating such a strong female lead.

Her words angered me, almost irrationally so, and before I knew my intention I leaned over the table so I was eye level with her. "You're right; he's not for me because when I look at him I see so much more than a rutting stallion." At her look of outrage I turned my eyes to steely blue ones before I added, "And if I was lucky enough to catch his attention I sure as hell wouldn't be okay with having him for only one evening." I then placed the check on their table and walked away.

Trace, *sigh* He has a troubled past and a lot of demons in his closet, which he isn't prepared to share with anyone. He fights in a cage to let off steam and he runs away when things get too emotional for him. But for the first time I actually understand it. I LOVELOVELOVE him!

You're my balm, my lifeline, Ember, and everything that this fucked-up man has to give you: this body, my heart and my damaged soul, is yours. You said that for you, it's me and that's how it is for me. You, it's you, Ember."

And their relationship was sooo... *aaaaah* She was so patient with him, that he slowly started opening up to her and started learning what it's like to be in a relationship.

"I know this is hard for you, going against instinct, but thank you for coming back." "On the contrary, it was surprisingly easy, Ember, because I was coming back to you."

What I also loved about him was that he wasn't controlling. Sure, he was protective, but I didn't feel like it was over the top.

Ideally, I would rather you not be out on your own, not until we handle him, but I won't ask that of you.
It seems like a normal thing to say, right? WRONG! Normaly the guy just locks the girl in and throws away the key and that is just wrong on so many levels and it pisses me of. So I'm pretty sure this is where the book got me sold! :D

Last but not least, THE STORY! There was an actual intense story going on here. I almost couldn't believe it! There were so many twist and turns and that last one *SHOCK* Yeah, pretty awesome! I can't find the words to praise this book enough, so I'll leave you with one of my favourite quotes!

And then those steely blues looked right into mine as all traces of humor were replaced with a quiet sincerity, "He asked me if I loved you and I told him 'totally, completely, hopelessly'."

You will get it if when you read the book ;)
